Soulja Boy isn’t holding back his feelings after Kendrick Lamar emerged victorious in the latest rap battle. Taking to X, Soulja Boy expressed his disappointment in Drake, claiming the Toronto rapper let him down.
“You disappointed me,” Soulja tweeted, seemingly referencing Drake’s performance in the rap battle. He then doubled down, highlighting Drake’s lack of support from his former collaborators. “Doing all them weak ass songs with them n***** look where It got u none of them niggaz you collab with or took on tour had yo back,” he continued, pointing out that none of Drake’s collaborators stepped up to defend him during the heated battle.
While Drake remained silent throughout the rap battle, his former Young Money boss Lil Wayne attempted to show solidarity during a recent Vegas performance. As Wayne performed “The Motto,” his hit collaboration with Drake, he subtly altered the lyrics, rapping “They don’t like us” while holding up his OVO pendant. This gesture was likely a response to Kendrick’s diss in “Not Like Us,” where he references Wayne’s relationship with Drake’s ex, Rihanna, and a subsequent tattoo Drake got of Rihanna’s face.
The tension between Soulja Boy and Drake is nothing new. Back in 2017, Soulja Boy famously called out Drake on The Breakfast Club, accusing him of stealing his flow on “Miss Me.” The Atlanta rapper passionately argued that Drake copied his “What’s Hannenin” verse word-for-word, igniting a viral moment.
