Adele is gearing up for an epic residency in Munich next month but confided to fans she may need time away from music’s glare when finished. In an interview with German station ZDF, she called her current run of sold-out Vegas shows “an intense emotional exchange” that’s left her empty.
“My tank is quite empty at the minute,” said the Grammy magnet. While grateful for fans’ passion for her soulful tunes, the limelight remains difficult for the private pop vet. “”I don’t have any plans for new music at all, I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.”
Despite early success, Adele has taken breaks between albums to recharge. Her blockbuster fourth effort “30” only arrived in 2021 after a six-year hiatus. Now with 90 Sin City shows behind her, the 36-year-old mum says she requires respite from recording and performing.
However, the Munich stand is sure to thrill. In a purpose-built outdoor theater fit for a queen, 74,000 daily diehards will glimpse Adele on a jumbo 220m display while drinking signature cocktails at an on-site English pub. “It’s bloody exciting,” she exclaimed on Instagram.
