Selena Gomez had quite the reaction when she heard about her history-making Emmy nominations for her work on Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building.
The multifaceted actress bagged her very first Best Actress nomination in the Comedy category for her work on the mystery mockumentary show. This proved to be a huge milestone for her in her career, really stamping her as one of the most talented talents around Tinseltown.
The news obviously brought immense happiness and pride to Gomez. She shared just one emoji on her Instagram story, which was this teary-eyed smiling face, expressing in a few words but maximum emotion how excited and elated she felt over such an important distinction.
Not only was she nominated, but Only Murders in the Building scored a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series as well. According to industry reports, as she is also an executive producer on the series aside from starring in it, she now is the most nominated Latina producer ever under this category of comedy series.
This comes after other recent accolades for Gomez’s acting chops: winning Best Actress at the very prestigious Cannes Film Festival this past spring for her role in the film The Valet. Clearly, her talent is being rightfully recognized on the biggest stages.
