Amy Winehouse has gotten an amazing award called the BRIT Billion Award! This award is given to artists whose songs have been listened to over 1 billion times in the UK.
Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis, went to accept the award for her. They said it is incredible that Amy is still winning awards even though she can’t be here. Her music keeps getting more popular with young people who love it just as much as others did years ago. Mitch and Janis said they are very proud of Amy and all her success.
Since launching in 2023, the BRIT Billion program has celebrated over 25 artists who’ve reached that streaming milestone in the UK. Winehouse joins icons like The Rolling Stones and Whitney Houston as well as current chart-toppers Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo in this recognition of massive audiences engaging with their music online
Even though Amy only made two albums in her life, she left a huge mark on music worldwide. She won 6 Grammys and had major hit songs.
