Fans won’t believe the scary incident that occurred during Taylor Swift’s show in Tokyo. While performing a number from her “Folklore” album on a constructed cabin set piece, Taylor nearly took a dangerous tumble in front of the entire Japanese audience.

During her exit off the cabin’s roof following a performance of “Betty”, Taylor lost her footing as she swung her leg over the edge. Witnesses say she windmilled her arms attempting to regain her balance. For a brief moment, it looked like she might fall face-first from the roof.

Thankfully, Taylor was able to catch herself in time to avoid a dangerous spill. But it was clearly a disturbing experience, as she had to take a breath and reassure the crowd “I’m good. It’s all good. Everything’s fine. Everything’s great!” with nervous laughter. No doubt she had no interest in leaving Japan by ambulance that night. Always the consummate performer, Taylor regained her composure and finished the show successfully.

Hearing about the scary close call secondhand was enough to make our hearts race. While Taylor is a veteran of the music industry by now, even superstars are susceptible to accidents. Clearly it could have ended much worse. We’re all grateful she escaped unharmed and can continue performing for her adoring fans around the world. Perhaps leave the risky roof stunts to professionals going forward. Fans are just thankful she’s safe, and she returns home from her tour without any other frightening experiences.
