Warner Bros. and Mattel are pulling out all the stops to promote the new Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. The movie follows Barbie’s journey of self-discovery as she leaves her perfect Barbie world to experience the real one.

The marketing push is Working! The movie has already grossed over $500 million globally. And people are loving all things Barbie and pink!

Brands are jumping on the pink bandwagon, releasing Barbie-inspired products and ads. Chevrolet even painted a Corvette pink just for the movie! 

Cold Stone Creamery and Pink Berry serve up Barbie-themed ice cream and frozen yogurt. Superga released limited edition pink sneakers. Even NYX Cosmetics has a full Barbie makeup line with pink lip gloss and eye shadows.

Warner Bros. really went all out – they turned an Xbox into a Barbie Dreamhouse game console! They hosted a Barbie-themed boat cruise.

And they pink-ified Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse for an Airbnb stay.

The marketing blitz really started with the first teaser trailer last year. While minimal, the pink logo at the end signaled the pink frenzy to come. Then the movie posters, slogans, and an AI “Barbie selfie generator” kept the hype building.

Barbie’s brand and that iconic pink color are now seared into our brains, thanks to the marketing onslaught. But it seems to be working – Barbie mania is in full swing and pink is taking over the world, at least for now!
