Ariana Grande is on cloud nine after earning her first-ever Academy Award nomination for her supporting role as Glinda in the highly anticipated Wicked film adaptation. The pop superstar was visibly emotional as she reacted to the news, taking to Instagram to express her deep gratitude and disbelief.

“I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise. I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company,” Grande wrote, also thanking director Jon M. Chu for giving her the opportunity. The singer’s boyfriend and Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater, was quick to celebrate the nomination, sharing his pride on social media.

Grande’s acclaimed performance has earned her a spot in the highly competitive Best Supporting Actress category, alongside the likes of Monica Barbaro, Felicity Jones, Isabella Rossellini, and Zoe Saldaña. The Wicked film, which is set to be released in two parts, earned a total of 10 Oscar nominations, including a nod for Best Picture.
