Looks like YouTube Music is ready to join the big leagues when it comes to music recommendations. The streaming giant just dropped a beta test of an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that could soon have Spotify shaking in its algorithmic boots.

Dubbed “Ask for music any way you like”, the new feature taps into the power of AI to craft personalized playlists based on how users describe what they’re feeling. No more tapping through those generic categories – just tell your virtual helper what kinda vibes you’re trying to chase and sit back as the right tracks start flowing.

Early reviewers are raving about how fluid the voice control is. Instead of typing out long prompts, you can just talk to your assistant like “Send me some summer-pop recommendation” and before you know it, a dope mix is spawned.

Once it levels up from test mode, YouTube’s hundred million plus users will see a shiny new card in their feeds labeled Ask for music any way you like” where the magic happens.
