Neumann’s first foray into audio interfaces is the new MT 48, built on Merging Technologies’ acclaimed Anubis platform. Developed through the partnership between Neumann, Sennheiser, and Merging, the MT 48 promises recording quality throughout the entire signal chain. It starts with Merging’s stellar analog-to-digital converters, which provide a staggering 136dB of dynamic range – four times better than typical interfaces. Clean mic preamps offer up to 78dB of gain to maximize the potential of Neumann microphones.

Beyond pristine converters and preamps, the MT 48 offers comprehensive I/O including AES67, USB, ADAT. Dual outputs let users record pre- and post-processed signals simultaneously. Four independent mixers maximize monitoring flexibility in the studio.

Powerful onboard DSP allows customization like EQ, dynamics, and effects processing on each channel. Intuitive control comes via a multi-functional touchscreen. Remote access is also possible via apps and web control.

While competing interfaces may excel in individual areas, the MT 48 aims to raise the bar across the board. At under $2,000, it provides Neumann quality from microphone to interface. With room for future upgrades thanks to spare DSP, the MT 48 establishes Neumann as an end-to-end solution for discerning studios.
