Looks like Taylor Swift can do no wrong on the charts, because her highly anticipated new album “The Tortured Poets Department” is shattering records across all streaming platforms!
The pop superstar dropped the album last Friday, and of course, people ran to listen. On Spotify alone, “The Poets Club” was streamed a whopping 300 MILLION times in just its first day. That makes it the biggest one-day debut in Spotify history.
But Swift was breaking records elsewhere too. Apple Music crowned “The Poets Club” the biggest pop album of all time based on first-day streams. And over at Amazon Music, the album became their most streamed worldwide during its first week!
Even the lead single “Fortnight” Featuring Post Malone is a certified hit. It racked up the most single-day streams ever on Spotify.
Of course, we all saw this coming after the success of her 2022 album “Midnights,” which held the previous Spotify one-day record. And her “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” also scored the platform’s biggest artist debut.
At this rate, it’s pretty much guaranteed that 2024 will see Taylor breaking even more of her own records. She had an incredible 2023 as Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide. But with how “The Tortured Poets Department” is performing so far, it wouldn’t be surprising if Tay tops those 26 BILLION streams this year.
