Taylor Swift dominated the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on Thursday, taking home 10 awards and setting a new all-time record with 49 career wins. The previous record of 39, which she shared with Drake, was decisively broken as Drake’s three wins this year brought his total to 42.
Among Swift’s victories was a historic fourth Top Artist award, making her the first artist to achieve this milestone. She’s also the first performer since Destiny’s Child to win this category in consecutive years, following her 2023 win.
The singer extended several of her own records, including a sixth win for Top Female Artist and a seventh for Top Billboard 200 Artist. Her album “The Tortured Poets Department” earned the Top Billboard 200 Album award, marking her third win in this category – another record.
Swift also captured her first Top Streaming Songs Artist award, along with repeat victories in categories including Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Radio Songs Artist, and Top Billboard Global Artist.
This year’s performance matches her 2023 showing of 10 wins, representing her two strongest years at the BBMAs. The awards tracked performance data from October 13, 2023, through October 10, 2024.
“The Tortured Poets Department” joins “Red” and “1989” as her Billboard 200 Album winners, with all three albums receiving Grammy nominations for Album of the Year. The 2025 Grammy results for her latest album will be revealed on February 2.
The Billboard Music Awards ceremony was broadcast on Fox and produced by Dick Clark Productions, a Penske Media Corporation company that also owns Billboard.
