T-Pain was feeling the vibes during his weekend Vegas set, cutting loose on stage as Kendrick Lamar’s heat-seeking “Not Like Us” pumped through Ayu Dayclub. A video of the singer grooving in a flowing robe quickly spread, with some speculating it meant he’d chosen sides in Kendrick and Drake’s long-running battle.

But T-Pain took to Twitter the next day to set the record straight – he was just having fun, not making any grand statements. “Don’t drunk dance in a robe. Somehow it’s a political statement now” he quipped.

Fans jokingly warned him about cease-and-desists, or implied Drake affiliates might cause issues. But the unbothered artist made it clear he dances for no one’s approval but his own. As he told Billboard, his sole focus is pleasing his family, not chasing internet opinions.

T-Pain stays dedicated to igniting the party, unconcerned with external kinds of beef. With smashes spanning eras and the ability to command any crowd, don’t expect him to stop getting down or caring what critics claim.
