Spotify has expanded its music video offerings to more users around the world. The streaming giant had been testing embedded music videos for Premium subscribers in select markets since early 2024. Now, the video feature is rolling out globally to 85 additional countries.

This move gives tens of millions more Spotify listeners access to watch official music videos right from the listening experience. Fans in over 90 markets can now sync up to see the visual stories that accompany their favorite tracks.

For artists, music videos are a key way to connect with audiences on a deeper level. Data from Spotify’s beta shows videos provide meaningful engagement boosts. Listeners who watched a video were 34% more likely to replay that song in the following week compared to those who just heard the audio. Songs discovered alongside videos also saw a 24% increase in saves and shares.

With this expansion, Spotify is enhancing the video experience as well. Indicators now flag tracks that have associated clips, making discovery easier. Searching by artist or song title smoothly surfaces any related videos. Tapping a button seamlessly toggles between playing the audio or watching the synchronization of sight and sound.

The rollout continues expanding the music video catalog over the coming weeks. Spotify is working to license more official videos from every genre of music. Future updates may bring new ways to browse and engage with videos on both mobile and desktop.
