Instagram users can now easily save songs discovered on the social media platform directly to their Spotify libraries with a single tap. Instagram has rolled out a new integration with Spotify that bridges the gap between the two services, allowing seamless music discovery and sharing between the platforms.

Whenever a user comes across a video or story on Instagram with an underlying musical track, they will see a new “Add to Spotify” button. With a simple tap, the song will be saved directly to the user’s Spotify “Liked Songs” playlist and library for on-demand listening. No more having to manually search or Shazam a track – users can instantly archive songs from Instagram right to Spotify.

The new integration vastly streamlines the music discovery experience across apps. No longer will users need to take extra steps to identify and save songs after hearing them on Instagram first. Everything can be handled with a single click directly within the Instagram interface. The feature aims to capture discovery moments and allow easy archiving of songs across services.

To access the integration, users must link their Spotify account to their Instagram profile. From there, any tracks added on Instagram will seamlessly sync to the corresponding Spotify library. The update is rolling out globally to both iOS and Android devices.

The move positions Instagram to better compete with rival TikTok, which already offers a robust “Add to Music” feature supporting multiple streaming platforms. However, Instagram’s integration started with Spotify support. Future partnerships could expand the feature to Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more.
