Chronixx has called out Spotify for allowing unauthorized songs to be uploaded to his official artist profile. In a post on Instagram, Chronixx expressed frustration that “Spotify literally allows anyone to post music” under his name, without any security measures to prevent fake or misattributed uploads.

This isn’t a new issue – for years, schemers have exploited Spotify and other streaming services by falsely tagging prominent artists on songs. Chronixx recently became one of the latest victims when an unknown label called “Brahma” added two tracks to his Spotify artist page without his consent or involvement.

Rather than taking a punitive approach, Chronixx seemed to make light of the situation. In his Instagram story, he jokingly encouraged more people to randomly upload songs to his profile, since he doesn’t have any official releases coming up shortly anyway. This quip highlighted how careless Spotify’s current verification system is in properly attributing music to the rightful artists.

Chronixx is one of reggae’s biggest talents. His last studio album “Chronology” from 2017 was universally acclaimed, blending classic roots influences with modern production. Fans have eagerly awaited a follow-up project called “Dela Splash”, which Chronixx had begun hyping in 2020 before delays. When he does put out new music, it will no doubt elevate the genre as always with its thoughtful lyrics and easygoing vibes.

Until then, it seems Chronixx’s Spotify catalog may continue to see some questionable additions out of his control. While the mixes-ups don’t diminish his artistic integrity, they underscore the need for digital services to step up verification for all musicians to protect their brands and give listeners clarity.
