Hozier really hit the big time with “Too Sweet.” His emotional love song climbed all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This milestone marked the first time one of his songs captured the top spot on the prestigious singles chart.

In a post, he said “A huge thank you for all the incredible support from around the world,” the caption reads. “#TooSweet has reached #1 in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and #1 for a second week in the UK and Ireland. It means the world that you’re enjoying this song so much. Thank you all.” He thanked everyone who lifted the song up and made it #1.
“Too Sweet” knocked the previous #1 song off the top spot. It got most of its plays from streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. The song also went #1 on the charts in Ireland and the UK.
While online sales stayed steady, “Too Sweet” really started getting played on the radio too. It jumped into the top 50 on the Radio Songs chart. That helped the song find even more fans. Originally, people heard a snippet of “Too Sweet” on a podcast. But when the full song came out on Hozier’s March EP called “Unheard,” everyone could hear why it was so good!
