While their music styles may vary, Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande share an undeniable bond as two of the most iconic voices in pop. Fans were thrilled when the queens teamed up earlier this year on Grande’s hit single “Yes, And?”. But their admiration for one another runs far deeper than one collaboration.
During a recent lie detector test for Vanity Fair, Grande couldn’t hide her love for Carey even under pressure. When asked her favorite collaborator, she immediately named “Mariah, the queen of my life.” Grande gushed over singing face-to-face with Carey in Wicked, calling it “the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.”
Carey clearly felt the love too. Days later she reposted the clip, writing “Love you @arianagrande”. She also teased their upcoming roles in the Wicked film adaptation.
This public display of affection signifies the true reverence these iconic voices have for one another. Beyond “Yes, And?”, Carey was one of few chosen for a spot on Grande’s latest album.
