Australian pop star Troye Sivan was honored with GQ Magazine’s prestigious Man of the Year award at a lavish ceremony held in his hometown of Sydney. The event recognized Troye’s incredible success over the past year, where in addition to scoring his first-ever Grammy nomination, he took home four ARIA awards, including Song of the Year.

Held at the iconic Bondi Pavilion venue overlooking the ocean, Sivan gracefully accepted the award from presenter Ross Lynch in front of an audience of Australia’s who’s who. In his acceptance speech, Sivan humorously noted the irony of winning Man of the Year after having made his drag debut just recently. He emphasized how being in touch with his femininity has been a journey, and pledged to use his platform to advocate for women and the LGBTQ+ community.

For the exclusive black tie event, Sivan opted for a head-turning all-white outfit consisting of layered long sleeves and shorts, finished with dark accessories. He was accompanied by his brothers Tyde and Steele. A slew of local celebrities were in attendance to honor Sivan, including Lynch, Willow Smith, wildlife star Robert Irwin, Paralympian Dylan Alcott, and others. Irwin looked dapper in a classic black suit alongside his date Rorie Buckey, who dazzled in a showstopping red gown.

It was a fabulous night belonging to Sivan, cementing his status as one of Australia’s most successful international artists with his widespread acclaim and influential advocacy for inclusion and self-expression.
