The music streaming app Musi has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing the tech giant of colluding with music industry giants to remove the app from the App Store.

Musi claims that Apple, in a secretive backchannel scheme, sided with music industry conglomerates to eliminate the app, despite Musi’s claims of operating within legal boundaries. The app uses YouTube’s vast library of music videos to offer a free, ad-supported streaming service.

Apple, on the other hand, defends its decision to remove Musi, citing numerous copyright infringement complaints from various sources, including YouTube and major music labels. The company maintains that it has a contractual obligation to protect its platform from such violations.

The legal battle between Musi and Apple has significant implications for the future of app distribution and the balance of power between tech giants and content creators.
