After multiple pandemic-related delays, Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated Chromatica Ball stadium tour was able to hit the road in 2022. The pop spectacle dazzled fans with over-the-top costumes, cutting edge production, and career-spanning hits. Now, audiences everywhere can experience the magic through the new HBO concert film “Gaga Chromatica Ball.”

The special captures Gaga’s electrifying September 2022 show at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium in front of 52,000 screaming fans. In the trailer, she belts out her synth-pop banger “Stupid Love” and gay anthem “Born This Way” against a surreal stage backdrop. The four-act setlist highlighted songs from her 2020 album Chromatica as well as legendary tunes like “Telephone,” “Bad Romance,” and “Poker Face.”

According to music critic Brittany Spanos, Gaga took her unique brand of “absolute, most unbridled weirdness” to new heights. Strange theatrical introductions set the bizarre tone, like a hospital scene preceding her performance of “Alice.” The climactic finale found Gaga delivering a creepy spoken word poem about art and creativity. Some wondered if she was hinting at a role in the Joker sequel!

Catch “Gaga Chromatica Ball” on HBO this May to experience the mother monster’s stunning return to the stadium stage in all its feverishly weird, wildly entertaining glory.
