On November 13th, the holiday season was sprinkled with an extra bit of magic for Jason Kelce, former NFL player turned festive sensation. His latest song, “Maybe This Christmas,” a heartwarming duet with the iconic Stevie Nicks, soared to the top of the iTunes holiday chart, dethroning Mariah Carey’s long-reigning classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The news was broken during the Kelce brothers’ popular “New Heights” podcast, sparking a lively exchange between Jason and his brother, Travis Kelce.
Travis, with his characteristic wit, couldn’t resist bestowing his brother with a playful new moniker: “Jason, how does it feel to be the new Queen of Christmas?” he teased. Jason, always ready with a quick comeback, joked, “You know, I’ve fought my whole life to be the Queen of Christmas, and the fact that we’re finally there is just really special.”
Jason’s collaboration with Stevie Nicks features on the upcoming charity album, “A Philly Special Christmas Party,” set to release on November 22nd. This annual holiday album is a labor of love, featuring Jason and his former Philadelphia Eagles teammates Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson, collectively known as The Philly Specials. The proceeds from this album go to charitable causes, adding an extra layer of warmth to the festive tunes.
The chance to work with a musical legend like Nicks, was a dream come true for Jason. “It was incredible to sing with Stevie Nicks,” Jason shared. “I’m just in awe that actually happened. This is really, really cool. There’s no percent chance that any song that I am in should be streaming number one on any service in any genre.”
