The singer Pink was in the middle of her concert in Sydney, Australia as part of her Carnival tour when she noticed a fan in the crowd experiencing contractions. Stopping her performance of the ballad “Our Song,” Pink asked if details were known about whether it was a boy or girl being born.

After confirming with her crew that the woman was being assisted and taken to give birth, Pink expressed surprise that her melodic performance was seemingly the trigger. She joked perhaps an uptempo song would have been more effective.

Congratulating the soon-to-be mother, Pink wished her all the best and a smooth delivery. She noted how last year another fan named Angela left a concert early at Fenway Park to welcome her son at a nearby hospital.

Pink’s shows are clearly emotional experiences that can induce labor! While creative expression and bonding with fans through music is her aim, bringing new lives into the world was surely not part of the plan. She handled the unexpected turn of events with grace, humor, and care for the fan’s wellbeing. Pink’s concerts remain uniquely memorable affairs for both performer and attendees.
