The beloved children’s song “Baby Shark” continues to swim upstream as a global phenomenon. Having already achieved gold certification for record sales in its home territory of South Korea, the Pinkfong juggernaut has now taken the top spot in France as well.

Released through Sony Music UK, “Baby Shark” spent 82 consecutive weeks on the UK charts and has been certified 4x platinum, reflecting over 2.5 million units shifted. The tune’s success shows no signs of slowing, as it also grabbed platinum status in Spain and multiple certifications in Poland and Italy.

Keeping a tight grip on streaming services, “Baby Shark” closed out 2023 as the only kid’s track within the top 100 songs worldwide on Billboard’s year-end chart. This marked its third straight appearance and demonstrated how it has infected listeners of all ages.
