Celine Dion has once again honored the memory of her late husband, René Angélil, in a series of heartfelt tributes. On what would have been Angélil’s 83rd birthday on January 16th, Dion shared a touching black-and-white photo of her partner along with a loving message about the enduring nature of their love. “Today is your birthday, but the date doesn’t matter because there isn’t a day that we aren’t celebrating life with you,” she wrote, speaking on behalf of herself and the couple’s three children.

Just days prior, on the 9th anniversary of Angélil’s passing in 2016, Dion penned an equally moving tribute. “René, we can’t believe you’ve been gone nine years already. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel your presence,” she expressed, describing him as her “greatest champion” and the one who “always saw the best” in her.

Angélil, who died of throat cancer at the age of 73, played a pivotal role in Dion’s unparalleled musical success. He was her long-time manager and had even mortgaged his home to fund the production of Dion’s debut album in 1981, when she was just 12 years old. Their professional partnership blossomed into a deep love, and the couple married in 1994 at the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal.
