Cardi B is known for speaking her mind and is at it again with criticism for the Democratic party. In a recent video posted to social media, the Bronx native called out Democrats for their “selfish” decision to let Joe Biden run for reelection.
The clip resurfaced last week, and Cardi doubled down by captioning it “Yeup Yeup Yeup,” voicing her belief that Vice President Kamala Harris deserves her turn in the spotlight as the party’s candidate in 2024.
“I feel like it was very selfish of Biden and the whole Democrat party that they allow Biden to continue to run for president,” Cardi said. “I feel like they should have passed the torch to Kamala. This was the perfect moment for her. Right now, I don’t feel like we have strong candidates. She’s super sharp and would make a great leader. Kamala checks all the same boxes as Biden but with fresher energy.”
The rapper argued Harris would have shone on the national stage at this critical time. “We already know she’s sharp with the f–king mouth. Whatever value that Biden wants, she’s practically the same value. So I feel like it was a little bit selfish to not make that choice to give her this moment to run for presidency.”
In response to fans on social media, Cardi even renamed her fanclub the “Smarty Gang.” While the outspoken star assured followers she’ll never switch sides to the GOP, she remains unimpressed with both Biden and Trump’s leadership.
