Camila Cabello is about to drop her highly anticipated studio album, C,XOXO, and she’s bringing along a very special guest – none other than the one and only Drake! In a new interview with Billboard, the “Havana” hitmaker revealed that the “Hotline Bling” rapper didn’t just make a feature appearance, but has his very own song on the album.
When asked about Drake’s appearance on a solo interlude called “Uuugly,” Camila didn’t hold back. “”Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album. I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his s—.” she said. Beyond Drake, fans can expect features from Playboi Carti, Lil Nas X and more.
But how did Camila convince Drake to hop on the album? With an Instagram DM slide into his DMs of course! “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it,” she revealed. From there, Drake came up with the idea for “Hot Uptown” which Camila says perfectly captures the Miami energy.
Of course, rumors were swirling after those jet ski pics of the two in Turks and Caicos surfaced last year. Camila set the record straight – it was a “vacation plus some work,” where she picked Drake’s brain during the album’s creation. “I love him so much, and I really listened to him a lot during the writing process for my album, and I really thought that he would like my album..” she gushed. When it comes to the “GOAT” Drake, the singer simply gushed: “It felt like shooting for the stars.”
