Travis Scott found himself in hot water with Miami Beach police early Thursday morning. The “Sicko Mode” artist, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was detained following a reported disturbance on a luxury yacht.

According to official records, police received calls around 1:45 AM about a fight breaking out aboard a vessel at the Miami Beach Marina. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed Scott engaged in a heated argument with individuals on the yacht. Reports state the 33-year-old rapper was shouting obscenities at the occupants as he backed away from the dock.

Officers noted a strong smell of alcohol emanating from Scott as they spoke to him. They instructed him to leave the area, but just five minutes later spotted him returning in an attempt to reboard the boat. It’s said Scott disregarded police commands and began loudly disturbing nearby residents with erratic behavior.

Scott was taken into custody under suspicion of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. The arrest report mentions he later admitted to drinking prior to the incident, remarking “It’s Miami.” Fingerprints confirmed his identity as Jacques Webster.

Scott’s attorney Bradford Cohen maintains it was all just a big misunderstanding. In a statement, Cohen asserted there was “absolutely no physical altercation” and thanked authorities for swiftly resolving the issue. Scott was soon after released from jail.

The arrest comes as Scott prepares for an extensive European tour kicking off later this month. He’s one of the highest-grossing rappers worldwide but faced backlash after a tragic crowd surge at his 2021 Astroworld festival left 10 fans dead. Civil suits related to the event still linger as Scott gears up for his return to the stage.
