Ariana Grande has responded to claims made by iconic actress Elvira regarding an unpleasant meet-and-greet several years ago. In a recent video circulating online, Elvira recalled Grande bringing over 20 guests to one of her shows but refusing to take a photo with the Mistress of the Dark herself after posing for pictures with all of Grande’s friends and family.

However, Grande tells a different story in a comment on Elvira’s Instagram post about the encounter. “I’m so disheartened to see this,” wrote the Thank U, Next singer. “I actually don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because I had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family (this was around 7 years ago and at the time I was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places)… but if I’m misremembering this moment, I sincerely apologize for offending you so.”

Grande acknowledged she may have misremembered the interaction but sincerely apologized if her actions truly did offend Elvira. “You’ll always be our queen of Halloween!” she added, paying respect to the horror icon’s iconic role.

While Elvira paints a rather abrupt portrait of Grande from her perspective that night, the pop star says severe anxiety cut the meet-and-greet experience short from her memory. Grande thanked Elvira for being nice to her mother, who seems to have viewed the show in a more positive light overall despite any awkward moments.

Setting the record straight in a thoughtful, none non-confrontational manner shows Grande’s growth and humility. Interactions are complex with multiple valid viewpoints; addressing issues directly yet respectfully can resolve misunderstandings. Both entertainment legends deserve respect for their boundary-pushing careers championing individuality.
