Dolly Parton is set to tell her inspiring life story through song in a groundbreaking new concert called “Threads: My Songs in Symphony.” The show will weave together Parton’s greatest hits and the moving tales that inspired them into a rich narrative performed by full symphony orchestras.
According to the announcement, audiences are in for a “symphony orchestra” exploring the threads of Parton’s journey through her beloved music. The legend herself will serve as a guide of sorts, appearing on screen to share the intimate details and deep meaning behind each tune. Fans will experience classics like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You” in a beautifully reinvented light.
Parton expressed her excitement for fans to discover new depths in her discography. “I’m just so excited to share my songs and the stories behind them in this beautiful new way,”. Threads: My Songs in Symphony’ is like a journey through the heartstrings of my life. I hope we can take it far and wide to symphony orchestras everywhere!”
The premiere kicks off next March 2025 in Nashville, played spectacularly by the city’s own symphony orchestra. Afterward, the co-producers Schirmer Theatrical and Sony Music Publishing plan to tour the show to orchestras worldwide.
