Incantio, an AI-driven music discovery platform founded by Danny Newcomb, has announced a new partnership with APM Music to enhance music search capabilities. Based in Seattle, Incantio seeks to utilize artificial intelligence to recommend tracks and connect independent artists to content creators through licensing.
APM Music, jointly owned by Sony Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing Group, holds over 1.3 million tracks from 120 libraries used widely in media. Through the partnership, Incantio will provide its recommendation tools and analysis of APM’s catalog to help users more easily explore options.
“APM has a great catalog of music, and we are excited to work with them both for their long experience in working with content creators as well as building a successful production music business,” said Newcomb. As musicians, Incantio aims to reinvent licensing by fostering direct relationships between artists and those in need of music.
For APM, the alliance supports the goal of illuminating artists’ works and helping clients find the right song more quickly, according to CEO Adam Taylor. He stated the technology can better serve their libraries, composers, and clients by enhancing human abilities in music searching and editing.
Through analyzing metadata, Incantio seeks to improve discovery of less visible tracks within APM’s extensive collection. The startup previously partnered with music gaming technology company Reactional and continues expanding its industry presence.
