Singer and actress Halle Bailey has welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Halo, with partner DDG. Bailey announced the joyful news on Instagram in early January 2023, sharing a photo of the tiny newborn holding her finger.
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” Bailey wrote. “Welcome to the world my halo. The world is desperate to know you.”
Bailey, 23, had kept her pregnancy completely private. Throughout the past year, rumors occasionally surfaced about a potential baby due to cryptic social media posts or comments from fans, but Bailey never publicly confirmed being expecting until after Halo’s birth.
Her relationship with boyfriend DDG, 26, also a recording artist, has been steadily growing over the past 18 months. They went Instagram official in March 2022, and Bailey has since opened up about falling deeply in love and finding creative inspiration in her romantic experiences.
In interviews last fall, Bailey said DDG was her “first deep, deep, real love” and that the profound emotions of their relationship transformed and motivated her as a songwriter. She had been working on her debut solo album, exploring themes of newfound love and self-discovery.
