Spotify’s monetization landscape is expanding beyond music in 2025, with a significant focus on empowering podcast creators through its newly launched Partner Program. Initially revealed in November, the program is now being implemented across four major markets: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
The initiative aims to provide podcasters with diverse income opportunities, particularly focusing on video content. A key feature is access to a dedicated royalties pool funded by Premium subscribers, which Spotify emphasizes operates separately from the existing music royalties system.
The program’s framework includes tools for creators to monetize their content through audio advertisements, not only on Spotify’s free tier but also across other platforms. The response has been notably strong, with Spotify reporting that over 65% of qualified shows and networks joined the program since its November 13 announcement.
