Universal Music Group (UMG) announced its final business deal of 2024, reinforcing ties with Amazon Music. The new agreement aims to protect artists from streaming fraud while creating better ways for musicians to connect with their listeners.
UMG’s chief executive Sir Lucian Grainge sees this development as the next phase in streaming technology. His vision aligns with earlier statements by Amazon Music’s Steve Boom, who had previously discussed transforming streaming services into platforms that do more than just play music.
The partnership will introduce new tools and special content designed to help artists build stronger relationships with their fans. Amazon’s recent addition of audiobooks to its streaming service is also part of the collaboration, with both companies planning to expand audio and visual entertainment options.
