As the 2025 Grammy nominations dropped, one name dominated the conversation: Beyoncé. Adding another 11 nominations to her already impressive tally, Queen Bey now boasts a staggering 99 career nods, solidifying her position as the most-nominated artist in Grammy history. While she’s conquered nearly every musical peak, the coveted Album of the Year award remains elusive. Will this finally be her year?

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” is in the running for the top prize, facing stiff competition from diverse artists. Billie Eilish’s introspective “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” Chappell Roan’s critically acclaimed “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” and Charli XCX’s edgy “Brat” are all vying for the coveted title. Rounding out the Album of the Year nominees are André 3000’s “New Blue Sun,” Jacob Collier’s experimental “Djesse Vol. 4,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet,” and Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department.”

The Record of the Year category is equally stacked, with Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” going head-to-head with tracks from Billie Eilish (“Birds of a Feather”), Chappell Roan (“Good Luck, Babe!”), Charli XCX (“360”), Kendrick Lamar (“Not Like Us”), Sabrina Carpenter (“Espresso”), and a Taylor Swift/Post Malone collaboration, “Fortnight.” Even music legends The Beatles are in the mix with their newly released track “Now and Then.”

Song of the Year, which honors songwriting prowess, sees another showdown between heavy hitters. Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” is up against tracks penned by Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars (“Die With a Smile”), Taylor Swift & Post Malone (“Fortnight”), Chappell Roan, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter (“Please Please Please”), and newcomer Shaboozey with “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

Beyond the major categories, the nominations showcase a vibrant musical landscape. The Best New Artist category features rising stars like Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, RAYE, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims. This category often predicts future music icons, and this year’s crop is particularly promising.

Genre-specific categories also offer exciting matchups. In Best Rap Album, veterans like Common & Pete Rock, Eminem, and J. Cole face off against newer talents like Doechii and the collaborative effort from Future & Metro Boomin. The Best Country Album category sees Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” surprisingly nominated alongside established country artists like Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, and Lainey Wilson, as well as Post Malone.

The 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 2nd in Los Angeles, promises to be a night of unforgettable performances and nail-biting anticipation.
