Nicki Minaj revealed this weekend that she plans to resume her education by enrolling in college. On top of furthering her own learning, the Barbz leader also said she is relaunching her Student of the Game charity fund to help fans pay for their education.
In a tweet on Sunday, Minaj let fans know she would be sharing more details about her major and college plans soon. She also said her #StudentOfTheGame Charity is making a comeback. Through this fund, Nicki has helped dozens of fans cover tuition, books, loans, and other college costs since 2017.
In 2017, Minaj went on an impromptu spree of paying tuition and other education costs for fans who brought her straight-A report cards as proof of academic excellence. She promised to continue these payments and eventually turn Student of the Game into an official charity. That vision became a reality in 2018 when 37 fans were awarded scholarships covering full tuition and student loan payoffs ahead of Minaj’s Queen album drop.
It’s unknown what specifically drew Minaj to resume her formal education years after graduating high school. The Queens native completed studies at the prestigious LaGuardia High School in 2000.
With a focus on education alongside her music career, Nicki Minaj proves she’s more than just a chart-topping artist – she’s invested in cultivating the minds of her loyal Barbz fanbase.
