Taylor Swift took to Instagram to gush over former Eras Tour opener Sabrina Carpenter following a surprise performance in New Orleans. Swift reflected fondly on the “wonderful weekend” in the Big Easy, where Carpenter joined her onstage unannounced.
According to Swift, the city “really welcomed us with open arms” and celebrated the tour in high spirits. But one of the lasting memories from the show was getting to surprise fans by bringing out Carpenter. Swift dubbed the “Please Please Please” singer “the pop princess of our dreams” in her Instagram post praising the impromptu collaboration.
The post gave fans a glimpse into Swift’s generosity as a performer, as she often invites special guests to share the spotlight. She also commended Carpenter’s dedication to her craft, noting how the rising star had just one day off from her own rigorous tour schedule but still made time for Swift’s fans.
“She had one day off from her very exhaustive tour schedule. Her show is physically full on and spectacular, and she could’ve been resting in her time off,” Swift said. Instead, Carpenter prioritized creating an unforgettable moment for those in attendance.
Swift went on to say that this is what she truly admires about Carpenter – her willingness to give everything to her supporters, even on a rare stretch of downtime. “She’s as real as they come and I’m so thankful she did that for us,” Swift added.
The praise comes as no surprise, as both Carpenter and Swift have dominated charts in 2024.
