It has been a difficult time for Zayn Malik and other former members of One Direction following the heartbreaking loss of bandmate Liam Payne. Just days after postponing his highly anticipated first solo U.S. tour due to Payne’s sudden passing, Malik has now revealed the rescheduled tour dates for 2025.
Malik’s “Stairway to the Sky Tour” was set to kick off this week but was pushed back due to the tragic circumstances. In an emotional social media post last weekend, Malik said postponing the tour was the right decision given “the heartbreaking loss experienced.” Fans had been eagerly awaiting Malik’s first major solo performances on American soil.
Today, Malik provided the new tour itinerary on his website and social channels, announcing the shows will now run from January to February 2025. All cities and venues will remain the same, including headline performances at The Anthem in Washington D.C. to kick things off, Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, and wrapping up at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
In the days since Payne’s sudden death last week at age 31, Malik paid tribute by remembering their bond and impact on each other’s lives. In a touching Instagram post, Malik said he often found himself talking out loud to Payne, hoping his friend could still hear him in spirit. Malik fondly recalled how Payne would always be there with reassurance and support during difficult times as teenagers thrust into fame.
