In exciting news for ’90s kids and pop music fans alike, the iconic songs of the Spice Girls are finally being made available for families through children’s audio player Yoto. Starting this month, Yoto offers a new “Spice Girls: Greatest Hits” music card featuring 14 of the girl group’s biggest songs.
From classroom anthems like “Wannabe” to dancefloor fillers such as “Spice Up Your Life,” the Spice Girls dominated pop culture in the mid-’90s with their “Girl Power” message. Over 25 years later, parents who grew up with Posh, Sporty, Scary, Baby, and Ginger can now pass that joy and empowerment on to the next generation through Yoto.
The screen-free Yoto Players allow kids to safely explore music, stories, and learning through easily swappable cards. The new Spice Girls collection joins a diverse library that already includes beloved titles from Disney, The Beatles, and Queen. Yoto Head of Music Dom Hodge called adding the hits “an exciting milestone,” saying they can’t wait for young listeners worldwide to discover the group.
Universal Music UK GM Sarah Boornman echoed the excitement, stating that for many adults of the ’90s, “the Spice Girls WERE pop music.” She looks forward to fans reliving those memories while introducing their kids to the “unmistakable, iconic anthems.”
Beyond music, Yoto cards offer beloved children’s stories read aloud. Classics from Winnie the Pooh, Matilda and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe immerse young readers, while holiday-themed sets get everyone into the Halloween or Christmas spirit.
