Billie Eilish is voicing her strong support for Kamala Harris yet again. In a recent cover story interview with fashion mag Vogue, the Grammy winner opened up about why she feels the Vice President would make such an inspiring leader.
“A lot of my fans are going to be able to vote for the first time,” Eilish told the publication. “So I’m like, Do you like freedom? First female president? Would be really amazing. I would love to feel safe as a woman in my country.“
The 22-year-old believes America having its first female president would be hugely empowering for women across the country.
As well as advocating for human and women’s rights, Eilish is a staunch supporter of gun law reform and social justice issues. She’s also leveraging her massive platform to encourage her fans to register and vote. “Vote like your life depends on it.”
The “Birds Of A Feather” hitmaker recognizes the stakes are high this cycle. “I mean, this is the most important election of our time, maybe,” she noted. Eilish continues: “I’m one person, I can’t make any change. But the truth is, we can all make change. And I have this platform and I’m going to use it.”
A few weeks ago, Eilish made her Kamala Harris backing official via Instagram – imploring her millions of fans worldwide to make their voices heard at the ballot box like never before.
