It’s time for the release of Nelly Furtado’s long-awaited seventh studio album, “7”, and she’s keeping her fingers crossed that international Taylor Swift will drop by for a guest verse. Speaking recently to Extra, Nelly spilled on how she has written the perfect verse for none other than Taylor herself.
“I have a song I want Taylor Swift on the remix,” Nelly said. “It’s called Ready for Myself. Verse two. She can rewrite it. Write whatever you want. Change the chorus.” The two titans of pop have shown love for one another in the past. Remember the VMAs last year when Swift told Nelly backstage that she was vibing to “I’m Like a Bird”? Nelly seemed surprised but was living for the compliment.
These queens have major respect for each other’s giant talent. In an interview, Nelly reflected on Swift’s lasting touch. “I think that it’s such a beautiful flow of life to know that your songs made an impact 20 years later,” she said. “When you see new generations enjoying your music it becomes very real.'”
