Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s story continues to unfold, and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end recently spilled the beans on a pivotal moment that solidified his feelings for the pop icon.
During a recent chat on the Barstool Sports podcast, “Bussin’ With The Boys,” Kelce dished on his initial impression of Swift’s ability to handle the media frenzy surrounding her. “She’s very self-aware, she understands situations like that. And I think that’s why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends [and] family.”
Kelce, a seasoned veteran of the spotlight himself, was initially concerned about the pressure Swift would face at high-profile events like the Super Bowl or her own Eras Tour. He explained on the podcast how he offered to have security escort her through private entrances, but she just walked right in through the front door. “She was just like, ‘I just want to be
around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.’ I was just like, she got beaucoup points for that. I was like, damn, she’s just in the madness. She wants to be a part of it, she wants to support me, and do things like that. She really won me over with that one.”
Swift, who has navigated her own share of media attention, echoed similar sentiments about their relationship in an interview with TIME last year. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don’t care,” she explained. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.“
