Get ready for a night of musical magic as the legends of song take the stage at the 2024 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The man behind the music of Footloose himself, Dean Pitchford, is getting inducted and who better to celebrate than Kevin Bacon and Deniece Williams? Bacon and his brother Michael will bring the Bacon as their musical duo, while Williams will remind us why “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” is still an absolute jam.
Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban know a thing or two about hit songs, and they’ll be on hand to honor Hillary Lindsey. After all, Lindsey gave them “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Blue Ain’t Your Color” – two tunes that took these stars’ careers to the next level.
Over in the hip-hop realm, Missy Elliott is touching down to pay respects to her frequent collaborator Timbaland. Together they crafted classics like “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It” that still shake the scene today.
Also on the list is 80s R&B royalty El DeBarge there to see Diane Warren receive the top Johnny Mercer Award. Warren penned DeBarge’s smash “Rhythm of the Night,” just one of her incredibly prolific catalog.
Plus we’ve got legendary performers like Trey Anastasio, Cary Barlowe, Andra Day, Jason Isbell, Nile Rodgers and Paul Williams ready to serenade the honorees. Talk about an all-star lineup!
Of course REM, Steely Dan, and songstress SZA will be taking their rightful places in the hall alongside this year’s inductees.
