Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was certainly smitten when pop superstar Taylor Swift attended her first Chiefs game, according to longtime teammate and long snapper James Winchester.

Winchester recalled on his podcast how there had been rumors circulating that Swift would be at the Chiefs matchup against the Chicago Bears in October. However, no one was really sure if it was true until equipment manager Jay White confirmed that Swift was indeed in the stadium.

When Winchester crossed paths with Kelce on the sidelines, he told his teammate “that’s cool she’s here.” Kelce seemed genuinely surprised and responded by smiling shyly with a noticeable blush, revealing his attraction to the singer.

As it turns out, this wasn’t the first interaction between Kelce and Swift. Winchester was also present when they first met months earlier at one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Kansas City. Kelce had tried gifting Swift his phone number on a bracelet, but the plan didn’t work out, until she started dating him that summer.

The game marked Swift’s inaugural visit to Arrowhead to cheer on Kelce, sending the internet into a frenzy. After the Chiefs won, the new couple drove off together, cementing the beginning of their romance.

Winchester later had the chance to meet Swift personally. He commented on her down-to-earth nature, saying she immediately remembered meeting his kids at an earlier event. Based on interacting with her this year, Winchester believes Swift to be remarkably genuine, leaving Kelce clearly smitten from their initial encounter on the football field.
