SIXTEEN YEARS STRONG! Eminem Shows Off His Sobriety Chip

The legendary rapper Eminem is celebrating a huge accomplishment: 16 years of sobriety. Eminem took to Instagram over the weekend to show off the fancy black and gold chip he earned marking this achievement.

On the chip you could see a tree, plus the words “Recovery, Unity, Service.” In the middle, it had the number 16 inside a triangle. That number represents the amount of years Eminem has been living life to the fullest without any substances holding him back.

When Eminem posted about his chip, tons of famous fans and friends flooded the comments to congratulate him. His longtime manager Paul Rosenberg wrote “Sweet 16, I’m so proud of you!” Even his brother Nathan called him his “Greatest Influence.” They knew the struggle was real.

Plenty of Eminem’s supporters in recovery could relate to his journey too. One said they’ve also been sober for 8 years. Another just got their 5-year chip. It’s awesome to see how Eminem is inspiring so many people in their own battles with addiction.

Eminem has had one tough road. One scary overdose in 2007 almost took him out for good. Doctors weren’t even sure his brain would recover fully. Sixteen years later, Eminem is still going strong. Huge congrats to Marshall on this major milestone.
