Taylor Swift has achieved a historic feat on the Billboard 200 album chart. For the week ending December 9th, Swift holds an unprecedented five titles concurrently in the top 10 rankings.
This makes Swift the first living act to place five albums in the top 10 simultaneously since Billboard began combining its separate mono and stereo album charts into a single all-format tally back in 1963.
Swift currently occupies spots #1, #3, #5, #6, and #10 on the Billboard 200 with recent and past studio efforts. Her re-released 1989 album has returned to #1, while Midnights, Folklore, Lover, and the reissue of Speak Now all appear higher up the chart as well this week.
No other artist alive today has achieved such domination of the top 10. In fact, the only comparable performance came from the late pop legend Prince following his death in 2016. That same week, Prince placed five of his albums in the top 7 positions, demonstrating his enduring crossover appeal.
By holding down five of the prized top 10 spots, Swift has cemented her status as not only one of music’s most popular recording artists today but also as a truly unique force in the industry with unparalleled chart longevity. Her albums continue moving units through digital sales and streaming many years after initial release.
