The highly anticipated Spotify Wrapped results for 2023 were shared at the end of November, revealing the top artists around the world over the past year. Leading the pack globally was Taylor Swift, demonstrating her continued dominance of the music industry. Close behind, however, was BTS member Jungkook with a momentous achievement of his own.

The South Korean star scored a spot within the top 10 most streamed songs globally with “Seven”, a collaboration with Latto featured on his solo debut album GOLDEN. This proved to be a breakout hit and highlighted Jungkook’s immense popularity on the platform.

Several other K-pop names resonated strongly with listeners according to the Wrapped rankings. The immensely popular girl group BLACKPINK maintained their title as the most streamed female act for an impressive fifth consecutive year. Meanwhile, BTS topped the charts as the most played group overall on Spotify during 2023.

Individual members also found major success, with BTS’ Jimin recognized as the artist who streamed the most within South Korea. Jungkook distinguished himself further by ranking as the highest played musician in Thailand. Elated by the support, he expressed gratitude to his dedicated fanbase on social media.

Avid K-pop fans wasted no time praising these achievements online. One tweeted admiration for Jungkook’s “Seven”, agreeing the song’s production and vocals were worthy of such recognition. Another congratulated BLACKPINK’s sustained popularity. Others highlighted beloved songs cementing BLACKPINK and Jimin’s deserved triumphs according to the Wrapped data. The results shone a light on the K-pop genre’s far-reaching global influence.
