SoundCloud is overhauling their chart offerings and adding new features to place a stronger emphasis on emerging independent talent. The platform has relaunched their charts in both the US and UK with freshened approaches and a brand new chart introduction.

Debuting is the Next Pro Chart, which aims to highlight undiscovered and unsigned artists. This list will focus attention on independent musicians. Alongside this is the revamped New & Hot Chart, now updating every Thursday to provide an early look at tracks gaining momentum.

While SoundCloud has integrated major label catalog content, their roots remain centered around direct artist uploads. The chart revisions concentrate on spotlighting the independent scene that underlies their platform. Global Head of Music Emmy Lovell commented that these charts can signify success milestones for artists and open new doors.

Updates are also being made for listeners. Search now employs genre categories for improved discovery. Personalized playlists like “Your Mix” and “Your MegaMix” dynamically tailor song selection using a listener’s history and engagement. Additionally, thematic playlists powered by Musiio’s music intelligence are now available stateside after seeing overseas popularity. These provide mood-centered track compilations and refresh weekly.

In revamping their charts and adding features, SoundCloud aims to strengthen its role in elevating emerging talent while enhancing the music exploration experience for all users. The platform continues to distinguish itself as a key outlet for independent artists worldwide to directly share their creations.
