In the top category of Album of the Year, all eight nominated projects were created by hugely successful acts like SZA, Swift, Rodrigo, Cyrus and Batiste. Veteran icon Taylor Swift makes history as the first artist ever nominated seven times for Song of the Year. The Barbie movie soundtrack received widespread recognition with 12 total nominations, highlighting songs from Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa that were featured in the film.

It’s clear this was a breakthrough year for women in music. Outside of Jon Batiste, all the other top nominees in the major fields were women. In contrast, only three nominations out of 24 went to male artists. The Grammys seem to be reflecting how females are truly dominating the industry right now.
