Scooter Braun made light of the fact that he was not on the guest list for pop star Taylor Swift’s luxurious beachside gala. Braun, who has had a longstanding feud with Swift stemming from a controversial acquisition of her back catalog, took to Instagram to joke about being left out of the lavish celebration.

Braun saw a TMZ report about Swift’s star-studded beach party, which was attended by A-listers like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. He posted a screenshot of the article along with the caption “How was I not invited to this?? #laughalittle”. This reference to his ongoing spat with Swift drew attention, as their conflict over her master recordings has been extensively documented.

The bad blood between them started in 2019 when Braun’s firm purchased Swift’s former record label Big Machine, and with it the rights to her first six albums. Swift said she was never given a chance to acquire her own music and accused Braun of bullying her. She has since re-recorded many of those songs to regain control.

Though Braun addressed wanting to resolve things, the two have taken jabs at each other via social media over the years. Swift supporters saw his recent Instagram post about the beach bash as another way of poking fun and prolonging their very public dispute. According to one music industry insider, Braun appears “obsessed” with Swift despite his professed desire to de-escalate tensions.
