Just in time for the Super Bowl, Popeyes, and Tequila Don Julio are teaming up to create a special menu that combines two game-day favorites: fried chicken and tequila. The limited-edition Championship Lineup will be available for one day only—January 31—at select Popeyes locations in New York City, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Kansas City.
The highlight of the menu is the Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Concha Chicken Sandwich. This unique sandwich features a chicken breast marinated in reposado tequila, fried in Popeyes’ classic buttermilk coating, and topped with tequila-lime slaw, a spicy spread, and a barrel-cured pickle. It’s all served on a concha roll, adding a touch of sweetness to the savory dish.
Also on the menu are Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Louisiana Garlic Wings, served with a special sauce, and a Spicy Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade Mocktail to round out the meal. The collaboration is only available to customers 21 and older.
In New Orleans, where the Super Bowl will take place this year, the menu will be available at the Popeyes flagship location on Canal Street from January 31 through February 9, while supplies last.
To celebrate the partnership, Popeyes and Tequila Don Julio will host an event in New Orleans on February 7, featuring a performance by singer Tinashe. “It’s two things I’m a fan of coming together—fried chicken and tequila. What more could you ask for?” Tinashe said in a statement.
For those who can’t make it to the participating cities, Popeyes is offering a buy-one-get-one-free chicken sandwich deal on Uber Eats through February 9, along with a $5 code for Tequila Don Julio.
